  • Recommended spent time: at least one day on Binh Ba Island

Note: Binh Ba is an important military island in Vietnam. Therefore, there are still restrictions on foreign visitors though the rules have been loosened.

3. Hon Yen Island (Hòn Yến)

7. Whale Island (Hòn Ông, Đảo Cá Voi) – Truly Hiding Area From Urban Life

Located about 100 km away from Nha Trang, Hon Ong – Whale island is suitable for people who are not into crowded places. Unlike other islands, Hon Ong has no citizens. All tourism activities happening on this Island are held by its only resort: Whale Island Resort. Therefore, Hon Ong would not be suitable for adventurous visitors as the Resorts can only hold some simple thrilling games like: kayaking, motorboat, and so on.

Especially environmental protection is one of the most concerning issues on this island. As a result, visitors to Hon Ong would not be able to go fishing or hunt birds. If you are looking for an energetic place where you can spend days and nights at bars or crowded places, this island will not be recommended for you. However, if you are looking for a pristine island, where you can hide yourself from the urban life, the modern hustle, this is definitely a paradise for you.

What to Do:

  • Take part in kayaking and motorboating
  • Get away from the hustle and bustle of the urban life

  • Note: As there is merely a resort with about 30 rooms on this island, you had better make a booking if you are truly into this island. The resort is mainly made of wood, bamboo, and some kinds of dried leaves, so you will have a chance of immersing yourself deeply into nature.
  • Ticket: To get to the Island, go to Đầm Môn Port, there will be a resort’s boat taking you to Hon Ong, FREELY!
  • Recommended visiting time: February to August, as there will be little storm at that time.
