Sữa Đá Chanh Recipe: Iced Condensed Milk with Lime

Hanna Tran Hanna Tran | Updated October 16, 2026

Sữa đá chanh is iced milk with lime: condensed milk, lime juice (chanh in Vietnamese) and crushed ice. Lime juice in milk sounds unlikely, and the original writer wondered about it too, until their brother came home, made a glass, and handed over a spoonful. After one taste they wanted a glass of their own. It’s a drink for hot days.

Sữa Đá Chanh Recipe: Iced Condensed Milk with Lime

Ingredients

  • Condensed milk (or yogurt instead)
  • Lime juice
  • Crushed ice
  • A little hot water

How to make sữa đá chanh

1. Loosen the condensed milk

Pour the condensed milk into a glass. Add a little hot water and stir well, so the thick milk thins out and will mix with the juice.

2. Squeeze the limes

Cut the limes in half and squeeze out the juice. Keep the seeds out of it.

3. Mix and serve

This is the step that matters. Add the lime juice to the milk slowly, stirring well as you go. Then add the crushed ice, mix again and drink it straight away.
