Gà xào thập cẩm, chicken fried with vegetables, is the author’s family favourite at the weekend. Her mom usually makes it with bell pepper and mushrooms, and it works well as a lunch dish. It doesn’t take long to cook, and it’s best eaten with boiled rice and a hot soup.
