Sườn Cốt Lết Rim Mặn Ngọt Recipe: Pork Chops in Sweet and Salty Sauce

Hanna Tran Hanna Tran | Updated October 16, 2026

Sườn cốt lết rim mặn ngọt is a home-style Vietnamese pork dish. The chops are fried with garlic until golden, then simmered (rim) under a lid in fish sauce, sugar and chilli until the meat is tender and the sauce has cooked down to a sticky glaze, both salty (mặn) and sweet (ngọt). Eat it with steamed rice or with bread; the original author recommends both.
