Summary

This tour is a perfect combination of sightseeing tour and city tour which will take you to one of the most common pagodas in Hanoi. Perfume Pagoda is one among the highlights of Hanoi and surrounding areas and one of the most important religious sites which resembles Buddhism in Vietnam. In spring, after the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year. It is said that if you visit this pagoda in three continuous years, luck and happiness will find you! The pagoda itself is built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat and on foot, as there are no other roads into this area. You will glide along the scenic waterways and walk up the steep mountain paths to visit the pagodas and temples which were built in this area over the last centuries.

Itinerary

  • 7:45 - 8:15: Our guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel in Ha Noi Old Quarter.
  • Then take a 2-hour road trip from Hanoi center to the suburb where Perfume Pagoda is situated.
  • After that we take a row-boat trip along Yen Stream to visit the land. It will take around 1 hour to reach Thien Tru harbor.
  • Trek up and down to visit the main cave of Huong Tich on the top of the mountain. There are lots of places nearby for you to explore. If you have visited most pagodas and temples in Vietnam, it may find out that a pagoda with good location is the one that leans back to the mountain and look over the river, stream. Perfume pagoda’s location can be considered an ideal one.
  • There is still much interesting features waiting to be explored but it’s time we have lunch after continuing our trip.
  • 13:00 – 13:30: After lunchtime, we continue our visit.
  • Chua Huong (Perfume Pagoda) is not a single pagoda, it is a traditional name which was once set for a Vietnam’s cultural and religious complex which comprises many pagodas (worship the Buddha) and temples (worship the deities).
  • Huong Pagoda was and has been choosing as a familiar symbol in much Vietnamese poetry. The pagoda also boasts special architectures which date back to he Ly Dynasty.
  • Take time to have a look at the Main Pagoda (Chua Chinh), a natural stone grotto with 120 stone-steps.
  • Then we will transfer back by row-boat and 2-hour road trip to Hanoi and arrive in Hanoi at about 17:00.
