Sapa is an ideal destination for those who want to explore with regards to culture as well as nature. Sapa’s diversification in culture is reflected through the daily life of local people. In Sapa, there are a wide variety of ethnic minority groups who share common as well as distinctive features. If you would like to get to know about their unique culture, do visit Sapa and join in the daily activities there. If you visit Sapa at weekends, you may have chance to join in the weekly market sessions where different ethnic groups gather together for purchasing goods and for socializing. This will be a good chance for shopping and getting to know about shopping practices of local people. Shopping in Sapa is featured with different handicraft as well as local hand-made products. In Sapa, tourists can shop in many souvenir shops in Sapa town center or shop at the weekly markets (which are kilometers away from Sapa town center). In the souvenir shops, there are various handicraft products such as silk scarves, hand bags and bags, etc. Besides, some shops also offers jewelries made from gold or silver. Brocatelle products such as clothes or hat are also sold in some souvenir shops or in Sapa market (which is right near Sapa church). Spending one day shopping will be a memorable experience since you will not only shop, but also learn. There are minority women and children wandering around Sapa market selling brocatelle products. They may ask you to buy some if you want. The weekly markets often take place at weekends such as Bac Ha market, Coc Ly market, etc. In these markets, you will have opportunity to meet and even talk with friendly local people. They come to the market not only for buying and selling goods, but also to meet each other, to communicate and socialize. It’s interesting to see how they are getting on with their daily lives there.
