Sapa is well-known for its mild climate plus the stunning natural landscape. Each season provides tourists with different feeling and each place of interest has its own characteristics. Among Sapa’s famous attractions is the Cloud Bridge (Cau May) which connects the two side of the beautiful Muong Hoa River. Cau May is about 17 km to the southeast of Sapa town center. From the main road, you will have to walk another 3km to reach the bridge. The bridge is made from rattan, however, tourists often call it Cloud Bridge since in Vietnamese, the word “may” has the same pronunciation as the Vietnamese meaning of “cloud” and “rattan”. That may be the reason why people call it Cloud Bridge although there is no cloud around the bridge at all. Nevertheless, when it is foggy, standing on the bridge, tourists will imagine themselves among the romantic clouds. You can visit the bridge at anytime in year and take nice photographs.
