Po Rome Tower
Po Rome Tower

Po Rome, one of the biggest towers of Cham Pa people and also the last of Champa Kingdom, was constructed in 17th century on a high hill in Ninh Phuoc. Unlike other towers, this one does not worship any god in the culture of Cham Pa people, but King Po Rome, a well-known king that is considered a god, and his queens. Every year, Cham people visit the tower on their holiday to perform the traditional rites at the tower.

The design and decoration patterns of Po Rome tower is less delicate and extravagant then other Cham Pa tower. There are one main floor and three roof floors. The main floor is featured with an eastward main entrance, which is decorated with a statue of Siva God and fire symbol. The tower walls are engraved with local Gods in sitting positions. The rest three floors on the top are featured with the same structure. Stepping inside, you will see a statue of Po Rome King ans a half-body statue of a woman called Queen Po Bia Sancan. There is another statue of Queen Sucih and the tomb of King Po Rome and his wives.
