Tran Temple is one of the famous destinations which can not be missed if you have time to travel to Nam Dinh province. Kings of the Tran Dynasty and their mandarins are worshiped in Tran Temple.
Structurally, Tran Temple has three main buildings including Thien Truong Temple (called Up Temple), Trung Hoa Temple (called Center Temple) and Co Trach Temple (called Down Temple). Firstly, Thien Truong Temple was constructed from the base of Trung Quang Place which used to be the living and working place of the former Tran King. The altars and plaques of Tran Dynasty’s mandarins are put on the first aisle of the temple. The other two aisles in the back of the temple are put for worshipping Tran Kings and their ancestors; and the sides of the interior is the altars of the King’s wives (the Queens). Secondly, Co Trach Temple is a worshipping place of Great General Tran Hung Dao, who has been widely famous for his three epic victories against the Mongol invaders. His family and reliable assistants are also altered in Co Trach Temple. The last Trung Hoa Temple is a newly-built building in 2000. 14 Kings of Tran Dynasty as well as their most respected mandarins are both worshipped here.
Tran Temple Festival is annually taken place on January 15th. Don’t forget to visit Nam Dinh at that time to celebrate the Tran Dynasty and also pray for good fortune in your life, especially in your business if you are businessman.
