Mong Cai City overview

Mong Cai city is a part of Quang Ninh province, lying by the side of Ka Long River, about 178km from Halong city. Mong Cai is included in the eco-tourism complex of Halong – Cat ba – Tra Co. Today, Mong Cai is a large commercial center in the northern region of Vietnam. The city share its border with Guang Xi – China, and most of the trading activities between Vietnam – China takes place at Mong Cai Boder Gate. The southeast of the land situated the East Sea with long coastline.

Mong Cai is not only favored with many beauty spots and historical relics, but also rich in culture. Tra Co is a well-known beach, which have recently attracted a large number of tourists. With cool and fresh atmosphere, plus the long white sandy beach, Tra Co is a good choice in summer days. Besides, there is a church, several pagodas and temples. Visiting Tra Co in the first days of June (of lunar year), tourists will have chance to join the Tra Co temple festival, which reflects the traditional of local people.

With great tourism potential and rich cultural value, Mong Cai is not only a developed commercial center, but also a traditional land and an ideal place for relaxation.
