Thien Y A Na Festival is considered the combination between Viet culture and Cham culture. The festival represents the important role of Mother Goddess in creating all creatures on earth and the custom of worshiping Mother Goddess in Asia. On 4th day of lunar June, people organize the Thien Y a Na Festival in Am Chua, Dien Khanh, Khanh Hoa to commemorate the ancestors who explored and developed the country.
Am Chua is indicated as the birthplace of Mother Goddess, and this is the place where she lived with her parents. During her life, she helped many people with their farming, weaving work and protecting them against the enemies. Feeling grateful to her goodwill, people built a temple and hold the annual festival (Thien Y A Na festival) to commemorate her.
In festival days, people from everywhere gather at Am Chua to celebrate this festival. There are many activities and events hold such as public worshiping, competitions, etc.
