How to get to Bai Tu Long
There are many way to get to Bai Tu Long, both from Hanoi and from Halong Bay. From Hanoi, tourists can take a coach, minibus or hire a taxi to get to Bai Tu Long. It takes around 5 hours driving along highway 18 from Hanoi to Cua Ong pier, from where ferries leave for the archipelago. From Halong Bay, tourists can leave for Bai Tu Long by high-speed hydrofoils which run daily.
Besides, you can also get a travel agency to arrange all the transportation from Hanoi or Halong to Bai Tu Long Bay and vice versa.
For freelance travelers, getting on a coach from Hanoi is a favorable solution. If your group is large enough, it is advisable to hire a minivan.
